Peter Boulware transitioned from an NFL athlete to an entrepreneur and public servant. After being drafted as the fourth overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, Peter Boulware immediately made an impact, earning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award in his debut season. His rookie year saw him achieve 66 total tackles and 11.5 sacks, also securing the PFWA Defensive Rookie of the Year and a spot on the NFL All-Rookie Team. Prior to his professional career, Boulware showcased exceptional talent at Florida State University from 1993 to 1996, contributing to the Seminoles’ National Championship in 1993.
During his tenure, he was selected for four Pro Bowls (1998, 1999, 2002, 2003) and became the team’s all-time sack leader with 70 sacks. A pivotal moment came in the 2000 NFL season, where he was a key member of the Baltimore Ravens’ Super Bowl XXXV Championship team. Boulwares prolific performance across 126 career games included an impressive 493 tackles, 14 forced fumbles, and one interception, alongside earning Second-team All-Pro honors in 1999. He retired from professional football after the 2005 season.
In 2007, Boulware expanded his public engagement by entering the political arena, running as a Republican candidate for the Florida House of Representatives in 2008. Though he narrowly lost the general election, his commitment to public service led to his appointment to the Florida Board of Education by Governor Charlie Crist that same year. Through these diverse roles, Peter Boulware continues to apply his leadership, strategic acumen, and community dedication across business, education, and public policy sectors.
