United States Peter Sims is a bestselling author and entrepreneur, recognized for his work in innovation, leadership, and social impact.
As a social entrepreneur, Sims co-founded FUSE corps, a nonprofit fellowship organization that partners with mayors and local governments across the United States to help them solve urgent local challenges, such as homelessness, climate resilience, education and workforce development —supporting over 400 fellowships in 26 states.
Additionally, Sims was part of the founding team for GivingTuesday, the philanthropy movement that has become a globally recognized day of giving to charity, and has raised more than $20 billion for nonprofit causes.
He is also an advisor at Google[x], The Moonshot Factory, Alphabet’s semi-secret innovation laboratory.

Peter Eagle Sims was born on July 29, 1976, and grew up in the rural foothills of Northern California. He is an American writer, entrepreneur, and investor. He completed his education at Bowdoin College and Stanford Business School. Sims is the founder and chairman of BLK SHP (Black Sheep), Inc., a platform dedicated to making small bets and building new ventures, which also supports artists. He previously worked as an investor in venture capital with Summit Partners in London, where he co-founded the firm’s European office.
Sims is a bestselling author of three books. In 2007, he co-authored “True North” with Bill George, which became a Wall Street Journal bestseller and was later selected as one of the top twenty-five leadership books of all-time. Following this, he studied product design and design thinking at Stanford’s Institute of Design, leading him to write “Little Bets: How Breakthrough Ideas Emerge from Small Discoveries” (2011). This book was named one of the six best advice books for entrepreneurs by The Wall Street Journal. His most recent book, “Black Sheep: The Quest to Be Human in an Inhuman Time,” was released in 2024.
