Petra Jaszapati

Silver medalist at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in both the 500m and Mixed Team Relay events, Petra Jaszapati quickly established herself as a formidable talent in short track speed skating. This early success was followed by a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships in the 3000m relay, demonstrating her consistent performance at an elite level. Jaszapati continued her ascent by competing in the women’s 500 meters at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, and in recognition of her outstanding performance and contributions to sport, she was honored with the Silver Cross of Merit of Hungary the same year. The pinnacle of her short track career to date came at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, where Jaszapati earned a bronze medal in the highly competitive 2000m mixed relay.

Her commitment to high-level competition saw her represent Hungary in track cycling at the 2022 European Championships in Munich, Germany. Despite facing challenges, including a hand injury in June 2020 and an illness that led to withdrawals from the 2023 National Championships and a World Cup event, Jaszapati consistently demonstrates unwavering resilience and an inspiring commitment to her sport.
