Richard H. Blake is an American musical actor who has made a name for himself on Broadway by starring in various roles over the years. Throughout his career, Blake has performed in major productions including Wicked, Matilda The Musical, Legally Blonde, Rent, Hairspray, and Jersey Boys.
Blake was born on May 17, 1975, in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. After gaining years of experience as a child actor, his first Broadway debut took place at the Minskoff Theater in 1987. Here, he played the part of Archie Roosevelt in the production Teddy & Alice. The following year, he appeared on Broadway again but this time as Boy McDuff in Macbeth. After this production, Blake starred as the title character in the 1989 musical: Prince of Central Park. At just 14, he had become the youngest performer on Broadway to have his name written above the title of a show.
After creating a name for himself on Broadway, Blake spent the following years hopping between many Broadway sets. Some of Blake’s most recent roles include Tommy Devito in Jersey Boys and Lorenzo in A Bronx Tale on Broadway. He played the part of Lorenzo in that production from it’s opening at the Longacre Theatre in 2016, to the production’s close in 2018. With his natural talent and years of performance experience, it will only be a matter of time until Blake takes on another role in a Broadway musical.
