Rossa has transitioned from a child singer to a celebrated Indonesian pop diva, entrepreneur, and influential media personality. After her 1996 career breakthrough with ‘Nada-Nada Cinta,’ selling over 750,000 copies and topping the MTV Ampuh Indonesia chart for 18 weeks, Rossa swiftly became a prominent Indonesian music figure. Her early albums included ‘Gadis Ingusan’ (1988) and ‘Untuk Sahabatku’ (1990). In 1999, ‘Tegar’ earned four Platinum Awards and Favourite Female Artist at the MTV Indonesia Awards (2000).
Her 4x Platinum album ‘A New Chapter’ (2017) featured international musicians. In 2019, Rossa became the first Indonesian and Southeast Asian solo artist to sign with SM Entertainment, a major South Korean agency, making a guest appearance at Super Junior’s Super Show 7 World Tour. Crowned ‘Queen of Indonesian Digital Streaming’ in 2020, Rossa continues to innovate. Her 2021 single ‘Wanita’ made her the first Southeast Asian artist featured on Apple Music’s Spatial Audio (Dolby Atmos) and was chosen for Spotify’s ‘SPOTIFY EQUAL’ campaign.
She successfully headlined her solo ‘Rossa 25 Shining Years’ concert across Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur in 2022. In 2023, she unveiled ‘Trilogy Album Part 1, Another Journey: The Beginning,’ which achieved Multi-Platinum status, with her single ‘Khanti’ receiving a National Award for Best Theme Song at the Asian Academy Creative Awards. Rossa’s upcoming projects further solidify her status, including her documentary film ‘All Access to Rossa: 25 Shining Years’ (2024). She will also collaborate with Ariel (Noah) for a new rendition of ‘Nada-Nada Cinta’ (2024) and headline major ‘Here I Am’ concerts at Indonesia Arena and Axiata Arena in 2025, showcasing her continued artistic evolution and impact.
