Rudi Ellis is an Australian professional netball player. Having only recently broken on to the scene, she is an exciting new talent with a highly promising career. She accomplished a premiership win in the Australian National League, playing with the Victorian Fury.
Rudi Ellis was born in Australia, but spent her early years travelling around the world. When she settled back in Australia, she started playing netball casually at school, but soon found that she had a natural ability for it and strong competitive spirit. After honing her craft (a process which is still ongoing for her) with the New South Wales Swifts, she moved to Melbourne for university. She started a training partnership playing with the Melbourne Vixens, eventually being drafted by the Victorian Fury. As part of the Fury, she was awarded the Coaches Award for the role she played in the success of this game.
Her win in the Premiership really proved her potential as a player, and she was able to cement her status as a star-to-watch when the Queensland Firebirds called her up. She has been playing with them in the Suncorp Super Netball league. Due to her height, she has a fast and agile playing style with an aggressive defence. She was been trained as a defender, and is considered to be a bright new talent: one which will be instrumental in the Firebirds’ success as a team.
