Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Ruud Van Nistelrooy first rose to prominence during his prolific tenure at PSV Eindhoven, where he secured two Eredivisie titles and earned Dutch Player of the Year awards in both the 1998–99 and 1999–2000 seasons. Joining PSV in 1998 for €6.3 million, he became a dominant forward, scoring 31 goals in 34 league games in his first season and 29 goals in his second. Prior to this, Van Nistelrooy began his professional career with Den Bosch in 1993, tallying 12 goals in 31 games during the 1996–97 season, followed by 13 goals in 31 matches for Heerenveen in 1997, with his exceptional scoring ability attracting top European club interest. In 2001, Van Nistelrooy made a landmark move to Manchester United for a British record fee of £19 million.

Elevating his coaching career, Van Nistelrooy was appointed manager of PSV Eindhoven’s first team from 2022 to 2023, winning the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2022 and the KNVB Cup in the 2022-23 season. In 2024, he took on a significant caretaker managerial role at Manchester United. Subsequently, in November 2024, Van Nistelrooy was appointed manager of Leicester City, a position he held until June 2025, continuing his impressive track record in professional football management.
