Scott Rasmussen

Scott Rasmussen is a renowned public opinion pollster and political analyst, recognized for co-founding ESPN and establishing Rasmussen Reports. He is currently president of RMG Research, founder of the Napolitan Institute, and an editor-at-large for Ballotpedia. After co-founding ESPN in 1978 with his father, Bill Rasmussen, Scott Rasmussen went on to launch the groundbreaking sports network in 1979. This early success was underscored by a substantial advertising deal with Anheuser-Busch, which at the time was the largest in cable television history.

The same year, he released ‘The People’s Money: How Voters Will Balance the Budget and Eliminate the Federal Debt.’ Following his departure from Rasmussen Reports in 2013, Rasmussen continued his work in public opinion and political analysis. He established the Rasmussen Media Group and currently conducts polling through RMG Research. In 2018, he authored ‘The Sun is Still Rising: Politics Has Failed But America Will Not.’ Most recently, Rasmussen founded the Napolitan Institute in 2024, an initiative reflecting his ongoing commitment to civic engagement and informed public discourse.
