About

Simon Jordan was born on September 24, 1967, in Thornton Heath, South London, England. He attended Purley High School for Boys. Jordan initially built his wealth in the mobile phone sector, co-founding The Pocketphone Shop in 1994. The company was sold to One2One in 2000 for reportedly around £80 million. Following this business success, Jordan, a lifelong fan of Crystal Palace, purchased the club in 2000, becoming the youngest chairman of a Football League club at 32 years old. He publicly aimed for the club to reach the Premiership within five years, a goal achieved in four years when Crystal Palace was promoted to the Premier League in 2004.

Throughout his decade as chairman of Crystal Palace, Jordan appointed several managers, including Steve Coppell, Alan Smith, Steve Bruce, Trevor Francis, Steve Kember, Iain Dowie, Peter Taylor, and Neil Warnock. His tenure was marked by both success, such as the club’s promotion, and significant financial challenges, culminating in the club entering administration in 2010, which ended his ownership. Jordan also expanded his business interests by co-founding the car magazine Octane in 2002, selling his share in 2006, and opening the Club Bar and Dining restaurant in London in 2006, which he sold in 2011.

After his time with Crystal Palace, Jordan ventured into film production, executive producing “Sweeney Todd” in 2006 and producing “Telstar” in 2008. He also became an author, publishing his autobiography “Be Careful What You Wish For” in 2012, which received critical and commercial acclaim. Jordan has established a significant media presence as a journalist, contributing to The Observer and the Daily Mail, and as a broadcaster, notably co-presenting the weekday sports program “White and Jordan” on Talksport since 2020. He has appeared on television shows such as ITV’s “Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway” and BBC’s “Question Time.”
