This historic victory marked Italy’s first-ever gold in a Taekwondo World Championship and immediately established him as a formidable presence on the international stage. This triumph followed an impressive early career that included securing a European Junior Championships Gold Medal in 2017, underscoring his rapid ascent and innate talent in the sport. His exceptional and consistent performance, leveraging his height for powerful kicking techniques, subsequently led to his qualification for the 2020 Summer Olympics in 2021.
Maintaining his dominant international standing, Alessio went on to claim another World Championship title in 2023 at Baku, further showcasing his exceptional talent and adaptability.
