The brilliant sportsman Sinan Güler is a professional basketball shooting guard/point guard, who plays for Darüşşafaka Basketbol of the Basketball Super League in Turkey. He also shoots hoops for the Turkish national team. He is a 10x BSL All-Star, a 3x Turkish President’s Cup winner, a 2x Turkish League champion, a EuroCup champion, a Turkish Cup winner, and a BSL All-Star Slam Dunk Champion.
Born and raised in Istanbul, Güler proved to be a skilful basketball player as a boy, and played with the youth teams of the Turkish club Beşiktaş. He began his professional career with their senior team during the 2000–01 season, before he travelled to the United States. There he played college basketball at the Salt Lake Community College (JUCO) from 2002-2004, and then at Carroll College (NAIA) in Montana from 2004-2006. He then returned to his native Turkey and joined Darüşşafaka. He later returned to Beşiktaş. In 2008 he joined Anadolu Efes, helping the side to win the Turkish Cup and the Turkish Super League in 2009, and the Turkish Super Cup in 2009 and 2010. He moved to Galatasaray in 2013, eventually becoming their team captain as well as helping the side to win the European-wide 2nd tier level EuroCup in 2016. In 2017 he signed with Fenerbahçe, and two years later he returned to Darüşşafaka. On the international stage he has represented Turkey since 2009, and has won a Silver medal with them at the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
