Sir Darius Brown is a young man known best for his heart of gold and his entrepreneurial skills for his company, Beaux and Paws. At a young age, it was discovered that he had some issues with motor skills, but he managed to overcome his personal obstacles to become a master sewer, thus beginning his range of bow ties for both humans and dogs.
Brown began to use his skills for good in 2017 when he began donating his bow ties to dog shelters with the idea that they might help them get adopted faster in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Harvey. Now, his bow ties have gone global, making it to adoption centres in both the USA and UK. Brown’s aim is to save as many animals from euthanization as possible and help animals get adopted with his cute accessories.
Brown’s mission made waves on social media, garnering him a following of sixty thousand people on Instagram who are interested in his journey. His work also grabbed the attention of former president, Barack Obama, who praised him for his service to the community with a Presidential Commendation.
Brown earned himself a plethora of awards for his service to his local community and to other countries across the globe, including the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the White House. At only the age of fourteen, Brown has his whole life ahead of him, and yet he has already achieved so much. Though he donates most of the bow ties he creates to shelters, they’re also available to buy on his online store with all the proceeds going to shelters in the USA.
