Sir Darius Brown

Sir Darius Brown began his entrepreneurial journey at a young age. As a toddler, he was diagnosed with speech, comprehension, and fine motor skills delays. A childhood therapist recommended activities that would develop his fine motor skills. He learned to make bow ties alongside his sister. This early experience in crafting laid the foundation for his future endeavors. His awareness of shelter animals affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma sparked his mission to help them get adopted faster by making them look ‘extra dapper’ in bow ties.

In 2017, Brown founded Beaux & Paws, a company that creates stylish bow ties for dogs and cats. His innovative approach involved donating bow ties to animal shelters. The idea was that a well-dressed pet would receive more attention and thus increase their chances of adoption. His business rapidly gained traction through social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, where he connected with shelters across the country and directly with customers. Beaux & Paws also established a Facebook Shop, amplifying its reach and mission. By December 2022, Brown had accumulated over 138,000 followers on Instagram, leveraging the platform to update his followers and promote pet adoption.

Sir Darius Brown’s work with Beaux & Paws extends beyond selling products; it is centered on a philanthropic mission. He has successfully raised over $300,000 for animal shelters. His dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including nominations for the Global Child Prodigy Award, the GoFundMe Kid Hero award, and the Hero to Animals award. Balancing his business responsibilities with school, Brown emphasizes the importance of a strong support system and time management. Looking ahead, Beaux & Paws plans to expand its product line to include bandanas, leashes, and collars. Brown is also working on a book, aiming to inspire middle school students and adults by sharing his story and entrepreneurial insights set to launch in 2023.
