Born on February 15, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, Steve Farhood embarked on his career in writing in 1978 with Stanley Weston’s G.C. London publishing company, where he covered both professional wrestling and boxing. This early experience provided foundational knowledge in sports journalism. He subsequently advanced to held significant editorial roles, serving as the editor-in-chief for “The Ring” magazine from January 1990 to December 1997, and also for “KO Magazine.” During this period, he also served as the First Vice President of the Boxing Writers Association of America, further cementing his reputation within the boxing community.
Throughout his career, Farhood has been a prominent voice in boxing broadcasting. His on-air analyst roles include engagements with networks such as ESPN, CNN, SportsChannel, and USA Network, where he was featured on “Tuesday Night Fights.” A pivotal turning point in his broadcasting career came in 2001 when he became an expert analyst for Showtime’s newly launched boxing series, “ShoBox: The New Generation,” a position he continues to hold. In this capacity, he offers in-depth commentary and analysis, contributing to the show’s consistent recognition as a leading platform for emerging boxing talent.
