Also known as Pelican 212, The Rees Family are an eight-piece band of brothers and sisters who have made many appearances on American television, most notably making the final of Nickelodeon talent show America’s Most Musical Family. They have also wowed viewers on America’s Most Musical Family, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Little Big Shots. Their performance of Katrina & The Waves’ classic ‘80s feelgood hit ‘Walking on Sunshine’ has become a hit on YouTube, with nearly half a million views. Unable to perform for live audiences for most of 2020, they took to live streaming for their fans on their popular YouTube channel.

The group are all children of John and Linda Rees with an age-range that spans from teenagers to bandleader Katie, who is in her thirties. They honed their incredible skills by busking across south-west America, in Pensacola and musically iconic cities such as New Orleans and Nashville. The sound they have developed is brass-heavy and they perform wonderful, upbeat arrangements of pop, rock, and soul classics as diverse as ‘Twist & Shout’, ‘We Are Family’, ‘Take On Me’, and ‘Soul Man’.

The members of the Rees Family are all talented multi-instrumentalists and singers. They can boast trumpet players who are also twin sisters, a sister who switches effortlessly between trombone and bass, and a percussion-playing brother whose incredible, athletic dance moves add a whole other dimension to proceedings. As would be expected from such a group, they always stage a fun, family-orientated show with a diverse setlist that has something for everyone.
