The Rees Family

The Rees Family, also identified as Pelican 212, is a musical ensemble composed of eight siblings from the Rees household. They honed their performance skills by busking on sidewalks in cities such as Nashville, New Orleans, and Pensacola. Their rigorous practice in these environments allowed them to develop and perfect a high-energy stage presence, which they have showcased on various national television programs.

The group’s members are eight of Linda and John Rees’ ten children. The age range within the band is significant, extending from Mollie, who is 13 years old and contributes soulful vocals, to Katie Rees, the elder sister and band leader, who is in her 30s. The Rees Family specializes in performing pop, rock, jazz, and soul horn band music. All members are multi-instrumentalists and strong vocalists. Notable instrumentalists include identical twin trumpet players, a sister proficient on both trombone and bass, and a brother whose athletic dancing and percussion skills engage audiences. Their diverse set list encompasses various genres and musical generations, enabling them to present a polished, family-friendly show suitable for all ages.

The Rees Family has achieved notable milestones in their career, including appearances on NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’, ‘Little Big Shots’, and ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’. More recently, they were featured on Nickelodeon’s ‘America’s Most Musical Family’, where they secured a position as top 3 finalists. Their performances are characterized by a blend of instrumental talent, powerful vocals, and energetic stagecraft, making them a consistent draw for diverse audiences.
