Professional basketball player Tiffany Hayes had a successful college career before joining the WNBA to play for the Atlanta Dream.
Hayes was always a promising basketball player, being selected for the 2007 Youth Development Festival where she impressed the coaches and the talent scouts. She also placed second out of all the female competitors in the 2008 Nike SPARQ Training Championship, and these strong early performances meant she was recruited by a number of colleges keen to take her on. She eventually settled on the University of Connecticut, playing for the Huskies during her time there and being selected for the USA Women’s World University Games Team when she was just a freshman. Unsurprisingly, Hayes was snapped up to play in the WNBA by Atlanta Dream, becoming the starting shooting guard for the team in just her third season. She stepped up when other teammates were injured, proving herself to be an invaluable and highly effective player. She has stayed with the team ever since, being voted into both the 2017 and the 2018 WNBA All Star Games.
Outside of her club career, Hayes has also enjoyed success as part of the Azerbaijani national side, playing in the 2015 European Games with the team. She continues to be a world class player, and her career looks set to go from strength to strength in the coming years.
