Thomas Robert Daley was born on May 21, 1994, in Plymouth, Devon, England. His diving career began at age eight, quickly leading to national and international recognition. By age 14, he represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, becoming the nation’s youngest male Olympian at that time. He secured his first World Championship title in the 10-meter platform event in 2009 at age fifteen. Daley continued to achieve success, earning a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics in the 10-meter platform and another bronze in the synchronized 10-meter platform at the Rio 2016 Olympics with Daniel Goodfellow. Throughout his career, Daley has accumulated multiple World, Commonwealth, and European Championship gold medals.
Daley’s career includes significant milestones such as winning the inaugural mixed team World title in 2015 and repeating this success in 2024. He achieved an Olympic gold medal in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with Matty Lee, completing a full set of Olympic medals by adding a silver in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform at the Paris 2024 Olympics with Noah Williams. This made him the first British diver to win five Olympic medals.
