Tristan Rogers

Tristan Rogers was born on June 3, 1946, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. His early acting career began in Australian television, including short stints in the soap operas “Bellbird” (1977), “Number 96” (1974), and “The Box” (1975). He also featured in the police drama series “The Link Men” (1970) for 13 episodes and had guest appearances in shows like “Barrier Reef” and “Division 4.” In the early 1970s, he appeared in British films such as “Four Dimensions of Greta” (1972), “The Flesh and Blood Show” (1972), and “Sex Farm” (1973).

Rogers gained significant recognition after transitioning to American television, particularly for his role as Robert Scorpio on the ABC soap opera “General Hospital.” He first appeared on the show from December 1980 until February 1992. His character’s popularity was amplified by his involvement in the highly-rated storyline with ‘supercouple’ Luke and Laura, whose 1981 wedding garnered 30 million viewers, a record in American soap opera history. Following his character’s apparent death in 1992, Rogers returned to “General Hospital” briefly in 1995, 2006, 2008, and multiple times from 2012 to 2025, demonstrating the enduring appeal of his character.

Beyond “General Hospital,” Rogers contributed his voice to the Disney animated film “The Rescuers Down Under” (1990) as Jake the kangaroo mouse. He also lent his voice to the 2015 video game “Mad Max.” From 2010 to 2025, he played Colin Atkinson on “The Young and the Restless,” and starred as Lex Martin in the web series “The Bay” since 2010. His performance as Doc in the Amazon series “Studio City” from 2019 to 2022 earned him a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama Series. Rogers’ career also included voice-over work for major brands like Outback Steakhouse, Foster’s Lager, Reebok, and Epson. He passed away on August 15, 2025, in Palm Springs, California, at the age of 79.
