Tucker Durkin

Tucker Durkin is a decorated professional lacrosse player and coach, recognized for his impactful defensive play and leadership across collegiate and professional leagues. After a distinguished collegiate career at Johns Hopkins University, where he became only the eighth player in college lacrosse history to earn the William C. Schmeisser Award twice, Tucker Durkin went on to establish himself as one of professional lacrosse’s most impactful defensive players and a celebrated coach. During his tenure at Johns Hopkins from 2010 to 2013, Durkin started all 59 games, accumulating 127 ground balls and causing 65 turnovers.

He quickly made his mark, earning All-MLL Defenseman honors in his rookie year and going on to receive three MLL All-Star selections (2014, 2016, 2018). In 2017, he was named MLL Defensive Player of the Year, distinguishing himself as a six-time 1st Team MLL All-Pro from 2013 to 2018. Internationally, Durkin proudly represented the United States men’s national lacrosse team, securing a silver medal at the 2014 World Lacrosse Championship, where he was named Most Outstanding Defender and to the All-World Team, and contributing to a gold medal victory at the 2018 World Lacrosse Championship. In 2019, Durkin co-founded the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) with Paul Rabil, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of professional lacrosse.

He remains an active and influential figure in the lacrosse community, leveraging his extensive experience and leadership as the defensive coordinator for the Drexel Dragons, building on a legacy marked by championship titles and individual accolades, including his recent 2024 induction into the Johns Hopkins Athletics Hall of Fame.
