Walter Bond made an immediate impact in professional basketball, earning a spot on the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) All-Rookie Team in 1992 after his debut with the Wichita Falls Texans in 1991. Following his earlier professional debut with the Saskatchewan Storm in the World Basketball League in the early 1990s, Bond advanced to the NBA, making his debut on November 7, 1992, with the Dallas Mavericks. In his 1992-1993 season with the Mavericks, he played 74 games, starting 38, and averaged 8.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. A career highlight during this tenure was scoring a career-high 25 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 10, 1992.
Beyond his dynamic speaking engagements, Bond has also contributed significantly to broadcasting, serving as a respected member of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ broadcast team. In 2013, he expanded his media presence as the host of the Food Network series ‘Giving You The Business,’ demonstrating his versatile communication skills.
