Throughout the 1990s and 2000s Will Greenwood was an international rugby star with England and is now a popular guest speaker at a wide range of functions as a result. Playing at either inside or outside centre, Greenwood graduated with a BA in Economics from Hatfield College, Durham and represented teams including Harlequins, Preston Grasshoppers, Waterloo and Leicester Tigers.
The son of a former England rugby coach, Greenwood not only played for England but also for the Lions in 2001. Picking up 55 caps and 155 points for England, he managed an equally impressive 151 caps for Leicester and scored over 300 points in that time. A time in his life people often ask Will about is the occasion he swallowed his tongue and failed to breathe for a few minutes, on the pitch when playing for England in 1997. In the 2003 World Cup campaign he was a key player, taking part in all but one of the games on the road to victory, finishing as the tournament’s joint top try scorer with five in all. Retiring at the end of the 2005/06 season, Will moved into the world of media. Taking up jobs as an analyst for Sky Sports and regularly appearing on The Rugby Club, he also worked as a live match analyst during the 2007 Rugby World Cup for ITV. He’s an instantly recognisable face and performs comfortably in front of any audience when talking about his life in sport.
