Amanda Lee Williford – better known by her stage name Willa Ford – first rose to fame as the self-proclaimed “Bad Girl of Pop”. The singer smashed onto the teen pop music scene in 2001 with her defiant celebration of sexuality ‘I Wanna Be Bad’ and instantly commanded attention as an antidote to the overly sweet efforts of her musical peers at the time. The track reached #22 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and was followed by the released of her debut album Willa Was Here. Fast forward two decades and Ford has left the music business to become one of the most sought-after interior designers in LA and the star host of E!’s ‘Flip It Like Disick, the house-flipping reality series she co-hosts with Scott Disick.
A native of Ruskin, Florida, Ford began singing with the Tampa Bay Children’s Choir. She then toured with performing arts troupe Entertainment Revue before deciding to head out to LA, where she began performing under the stage name Mandah. Her first big break came when she landed a spot opening for pop sensations the Backstreet Boys, and after changing her name to Willa Ford she began to embrace her bad girl image that helped her stand out from the crowd. Ford signed to LavaAtlantic Records and was heavily involved in both writing and producing her own songs. Ford’s debut album was a multi-platinum smash around the globe, but following her remarkable success the singer decided the stress of the music industry wasn’t for her anymore.
Now the founder of WFord Interiors, Ford has used her experiences travelling the world as a singer, actress and television personality to learn how different cultures and cities navigate design, giving her a unique perspective as an interior designer.
