Wilson Bethel

Stephen Wilson Bethel was born on February 24, 1984, in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, to artist Steve Bethel and author Joyce Maynard. He began his acting career with early television appearances in popular series such as “The O.C.” in 2004, “JAG” in 2005, and “NCIS” also in 2005. These initial roles provided him with foundations in the television industry. He further expanded his experience with a main cast role in the miniseries “Generation Kill” in 2008, portraying Corporal Evan ‘Q-Tip’ Stafford, and made his film debut in the same year in the Vietnam War film “1968 Tunnel Rats” as Cpl. Dan Green.

Bethel gained wider recognition for his role as Ryder Callahan on the CBS daytime soap opera “The Young and the Restless” from 2009 to 2011, appearing in 78 episodes. His career trajectory continued to rise with his portrayal of Wade Kinsella in The CW’s comedy-drama series “Hart of Dixie,” where he was a main cast member for 76 episodes from 2011 to 2015. Following this, he took on diverse roles, including Charles Mahoney in four episodes of ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” from 2016 to 2017. A significant turning point in his career came with his casting as Agent Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, also known as Bullseye, in the third season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series “Daredevil” in 2018, appearing in 11 episodes.

From 2019 to 2023, Bethel starred as Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan in the legal drama series “All Rise,” where he also notably directed an episode titled “Truth Hurts.” His return as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter / Bullseye in the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” (2025–present) further solidifies his connection to the Marvel universe. Beyond acting, Bethel has also engaged in writing and producing, notably creating and starring in the web series “Stupid Hype” on The CW’s online platform CWD, where he served as executive producer and writer in 2013, and also contributed to “L.A. Rangers” as executive producer and writer from 2013 to 2014.
