Xiao Guodong

Xiao Guodong, one of the first Chinese players to join the professional snooker tour, has achieved significant milestones in his career, including winning two ranking titles and reaching a career-high world ranking of 8th. After securing the Asian Under-21 Championship title in 2007, Xiao Guodong turned professional the same year, becoming one of the first Chinese players to join the professional snooker tour. His early career saw him win two events on the Pontins International Open Series between 2008 and 2009. He made his first ranking event quarter-final at the PTC Grand Finals in 2012, before reaching his first ranking final at the Shanghai Masters in 2013, making history in the first-ever ranking final contested by two Chinese players.

His consistent presence and multiple advances past the first round at the World Snooker Championship, including reaching the last 16 in 2025, further underscore his resilience and skill on the sport’s biggest stage. These achievements highlight his standing as a prominent figure in international snooker.
