Born on February 10, 1989, Xiao Guodong began his professional snooker journey in 2007 after securing the Asian Under-21 Championship title. His early career saw him participate in various tournaments, gradually building experience and refining his skills. A pivotal moment arrived in 2013 when he made history by competing in the first-ever ranking final between two Chinese players at the Shanghai Masters, though he ultimately lost to Ding Junhui. Over the years, Xiao continued to develop his game, reaching several quarter-finals and semi-finals, demonstrating consistent performance in a competitive professional circuit. He achieved his first official 147 break during the qualifying rounds of the Scottish Open in 2021, showcasing his precision and scoring ability.
