Ghostland Observatory

Ghostland Observatory made a significant impact with the release of their debut full-length album, ‘delete.delete.i.eat.meat,’ in 2005 through Turner’s independent label, Trashy Moped Recordings. This immediately established the American music duo, comprised of Aaron Kyle Behrens on lead vocals and guitar and Thomas Ross Turner managing background vocals, drums, keyboard, and synthesizer, as a formidable presence. Known for their electrifying fusion of electro, rock, and funk, their distinct ‘electro-dance soul rock’ sound and dynamic live performances quickly garnered attention. They followed this with ‘Paparazzi Lightning’ in 2006, further solidifying their unique artistic vision.

They expanded their discography with their fourth album, ‘Codename: Rondo,’ in 2010, and participated in high-profile collaborations such as the Red Bull SoundClash against Snoop Dogg in 2011. That same year, Ghostland Observatory also performed at the Pacific Festival. After a productive period, Ghostland Observatory announced a hiatus in 2013 to ‘rejuvenate their spirits,’ returning in 2014 for a notable appearance opening for Jurassic 5 at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. They continued their re-emergence with multiple shows during South by Southwest (SXSW) in 2016, reconnecting with their dedicated fanbase.

In 2018, the duo released ‘See You Later Simulator,’ showcasing their continued artistic evolution and genre-bending sound. Ghostland Observatory marked a significant return in 2021 with their fifth album, ‘Vultures,’ demonstrating their enduring presence and innovative evolution within the electronic music landscape. Their extensive discography, predominantly released through Trashy Moped Recordings, also includes several EPs and additional live albums, solidifying their legacy as pioneers in electro-rock performance. The duo continues to deliver high-energy performances, captivating audiences with their signature blend of genres and immersive visual productions.
