Abbie Cornish

Abbie Cornish earned the Australian Film Institute Young Actor’s Award in 1999 for her role in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s television series ‘Wildside,’ which subsequently led to her first feature film role in ‘The Monkey’s Mask.’ She garnered significant critical attention for her performance as Heidi in the 2004 film ‘Somersault,’ for which she received the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actress at the FCCA and IF Awards, and Best Breakthrough Performance at the 2005 Miami International Film Festival. Building on this early success, Cornish continued to expand her filmography with diverse and compelling roles. She starred as the titular character in the 2006 drama ‘Candy’ opposite Heath Ledger, portrayed Bess Throckmorton in the 2007 historical drama ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age,’ and took on the role of Fanny Brawne in the 2009 John Keats biopic ‘Bright Star.’ Her career progressed with lead roles including ‘Sweet Pea’ in the 2011 action film ‘Sucker Punch’ and Lindy in the 2011 science fiction thriller ‘Limitless,’ where she starred alongside Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. In recognition of her burgeoning talent, she received the G’Day USA Excellence in Film award in 2011.
