Adam Amin

Adam Amin was born in suburban Chicago, Illinois. His father, Mohammed, immigrated from Karachi, Pakistan, to Chicago in 1978 and worked in a factory. Amin’s mother, Zubeda, and his three older brothers, Ismail, Abdullah, and Mustafa, joined them in 1985. Adam graduated from Addison Trail High School in Addison, Illinois, in 2005. He then pursued higher education at Valparaiso University, graduating in 2009 with a degree in television and radio. During his time at Valparaiso, Amin began his broadcasting career, working for the student-run college radio station WVUR-FM and calling Minor League Baseball games for the Gary SouthShore RailCats and Joliet JackHammers. He was recognized twice as the Indiana Collegiate Sportscaster of the Year by the state association of broadcasters. In 2009, he was also a finalist for the Jim Nantz Award, distinguishing him as one of the top five collegiate sportscasters in the United States.

From 2007 to 2011, Amin expanded his professional experience with various roles, including sportscaster for the Turner Sports & Entertainment Digital Network, Fox Sports Wisconsin, the Horizon League Network, and the Illinois High School Association. He also served as sports director at KUOO in Spirit Lake, Iowa. In 2010 and 2011, he provided play-by-play commentary for the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball on WCTC. His early career demonstrated a commitment to developing his skills across different platforms and sports genres before joining larger national networks.

In 2011, Amin joined ESPN, where he covered a wide range of sports, including college football, college basketball, professional football, basketball, and baseball, as well as collegiate softball, tennis, volleyball, baseball, and amateur wrestling. A significant career move occurred in 2020 when he transitioned to Fox Sports as a play-by-play announcer for NFL, MLB, and college basketball broadcasts. Concurrently, he became the primary television voice for the NBA’s Chicago Bulls on NBC Sports Chicago, a role he maintained until 2024, at which point he moved with the team to the new Chicago Sports Network. His work has earned him recognition, including being named the Illinois Sportscaster of the Year for 2021 by the National Sports Media Association. He continues to announce for Team USA Basketball events, including the 2023 FIBA World Cup and 2024 Olympic exhibitions.
