Barthélémy Chinenyeze

Barthélémy Ikechi Ross Chinenyeze was born on February 28, 1998, in Coudekerque-Branche, France. His early career in volleyball began with Spacer’s de Toulouse, where he played from 2016 to 2018. In 2017, Chinenyeze joined the French national team and quickly made an impact, participating in the 2017 European Championship and the 2017 World Grand Champions Cup. His talent as a middle blocker led him to a gold medal win at the 2017 FIVB World League. This period established his presence in both national and international volleyball circuits.

Chinenyeze’s club career has included stints with various prominent teams across Europe. In 2018, he moved to Asseco Resovia, followed by a period with Tours VB from 2018 to 2019, where he secured a French Cup and French Championship title. He continued his progression with Volley Callipo (2019–2021) and Allianz Milano (2021–2022). A significant highlight in his career occurred at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where he earned a gold medal with the France national team, also receiving recognition as the Best Middle Blocker. He further contributed to the French team’s success with a gold medal at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League. In 2021, his contributions were recognized with the Knight of the Legion of Honour state award.

His career journey continued with Cucine Lube Civitanova from 2022 to 2025, where he achieved a silver medal in the Italian Championship in the 2022–2023 season. Chinenyeze then transitioned to Fenerbahçe in 2025, further solidifying his position as a prominent figure in professional volleyball. He also secured another Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with the French national team. His consistent performance and achievements underscore his role in both club and national team successes.
