Brandon Gaudin, born on December 18, 1983, in Evansville, Indiana, developed an early passion for sports broadcasting, inspired by his childhood hero, Braves announcer Skip Caray. He began his journey by broadcasting high school baseball games for a local radio station. Gaudin pursued higher education at Butler University, graduating in 2006 with a communications degree, a major in Political Science, and a minor in Business. During his time at Butler, he was recognized as the “Most Outstanding Communications Student” and one of the “Top 10 Male Students” in his graduating class. His talent was further affirmed when he won a nationwide Play-by-Play competition sponsored by CBS during the 2005 NCAA Tournament.
Gaudin’s professional career commenced with broadcasting Minor League Baseball games for the Orem Owlz. After a brief hiatus managing MediaOne Management, he returned to broadcasting as the “Voice of the Evansville Purple Aces” for three seasons. He then served as the play-by-play voice for his alma mater, the Butler Bulldogs, from 2010 to 2013, notably calling their Final Four run in 2011. This period also marked the beginning of his freelance work with Turner Sports, covering various collegiate championships. In 2013, Gaudin took on the role of the “Voice of the Yellow Jackets,” calling football, men’s basketball, and baseball for Georgia Tech, a position he held until 2016.
A significant career milestone occurred in June 2016 when Gaudin was named the new Play-by-Play Voice of the Madden NFL video game for EA Sports, a role he has continued in since Madden NFL 17. Concurrently, he joined the Big Ten Network, broadcasting football, basketball, and baseball, and expanded his duties with Westwood One, covering NCAA men’s basketball tournaments and select NFL games. His extensive resume also includes calling MLB, NFL, and college football and basketball games for FOX Sports. In February 2023, Gaudin achieved a childhood dream by becoming the lead play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Braves on Bally Sports South and Southeast, a role he is set to continue in 2025. He also broadcast select MLB Regular season games for MLB on TBS in 2025.
