Christen Press

Christen Press has achieved significant accolades as a professional soccer player, transitioning from collegiate record-breaker to national team star and now, an entrepreneur and advocate for gender equality in sports. After becoming the all-time leading goal-scorer at Stanford University with 71 goals and earning the prestigious Hermann Trophy in 2010, Christen Press quickly established her professional prowess. Her debut professional season in 2011 saw her named the WPS Rookie of the Year, immediately signaling her impact on the sport. Following the folding of the Women’s Professional Soccer league in 2012, Press sought new challenges, moving to Sweden to play for Göteborg FC.

In Sweden, Press further solidified her reputation, becoming the leading goal-scorer in the Swedish league in 2013. This impressive performance directly led to her call-up to the U.S. Women’s National Team, where in February 2013, she earned her first cap, her first start, and scored two goals in her debut match. In her very next game, she found the back of the net again, making her the only woman in history to score three goals in her first two games for the U.S.

In 2019, she co-founded RE—INC, a gender-neutral lifestyle brand, alongside fellow U.S. National Team athletes Megan Rapinoe, Tobin Heath, and Meghan Klingenberg. RE—INC quickly grew to encompass various initiatives, including ‘The RE-CAP Show,’ a popular soccer podcast. Through her work with RE—INC, Press actively champions gender equality in sports and provides a platform to impact aspiring young players, demonstrating her commitment to the evolution of women’s athletics both on and off the field.
