Clancy Grandy has transitioned from a decorated Canadian curler to a high-performance coach with British Curling, bringing her championship experience to the next generation of athletes. After securing her first Grand Slam of Curling event victory at the 2016 WFG Masters with Team Allison Flaxey, Clancy Grandy established herself as a formidable competitor in Canadian curling. Her decorated career began with a significant achievement, winning the 2011 Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships, and later that year, she skipped the Guelph Gryphons University curling team at the 2011 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. Grandy formed her own rink in 2014, competing in her first provincial women’s championship at the 2015 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
In 2021, she competed at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts as an alternate for the Tracy Fleury rink. For the 202223 season, Grandy relocated to British Columbia and assumed the skip position for the Kayla MacMillan rink. This new team experienced immediate success, achieving a runner-up finish at the Summer Series, followed by victories at the 2022 Martensville International and the 2022 Tour Challenge Tier 2 championship. They further solidified their standing by winning the 2023 British Columbia Scotties Tournament of Hearts, earning the right to represent British Columbia at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Working alongside Ross Paterson, she is now instrumental in coaching the womens teams on the Olympic program, leveraging her extensive competitive background to mentor elite athletes. Grandy’s new role positions her to aspire towards coaching at the World Championship and Olympic levels, continuing her legacy of excellence in a new capacity within the sport.
