Gashim Magomedov

Gashim Magomedov was born on September 22, 1999, in Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia. He represents Azerbaijan in taekwondo and has established himself as a prominent athlete in the sport. Magomedov demonstrated early promise, securing a silver medal at the World Junior Championships in Burnaby in 2016 and a bronze at the European Junior Championships in Daugavspils in 2015. His foundational training and dedication laid the groundwork for future international success.

Throughout his career, Magomedov has competed in the 58 kg and 63 kg divisions, consistently achieving podium finishes at major international events. His notable accomplishments include a silver medal at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and a bronze medal at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey. He continued his strong performance with a bronze medal at the 2023 European Games in Krakow-Małopolska, a gold medal at the European Championships Olympic Weight Categories 2023 in Tallinn, and another bronze at the 2024 European Taekwondo Championships in Belgrade. These results highlight his sustained presence at the top levels of European and regional taekwondo competitions.

A significant milestone in Magomedov’s career was his participation in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he earned a silver medal in the Men’s 58 kg category.
