Hunter Dickinson

Hunter Dickinson is a professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans, transitioning from a highly decorated collegiate career marked by numerous individual accolades and team successes. After being named the Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year in 2020, Hunter Dickinson went on to become a dominant force in collegiate basketball. As a towering 7-foot-1 talent, he led DeMatha Catholic High School to two state championships and earned first-team All-WCAC honors three times, culminating in an invitation to the prestigious Jordan Brand Classic in 2020. His immediate impact at the University of Michigan in the 2020-21 season saw him recognized as a consensus second-team All-American, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and a first-team All-Big Ten selection.

During his tenure at Michigan, he achieved significant milestones including 1,000 career points and 500 rebounds, alongside earning second-team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Defensive Team honors in 2022. At Kansas, Dickinson continued his high-level play, making an immediate impact in his senior season (2023-24). He was named both the Big 12 Conference Preseason Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, subsequently earning consensus second-team All-American honors and a first-team All-Big 12 selection. Demonstrating his prowess on the boards, he led the Big 12 in rebounding for the season with an impressive 10.9 rebounds per game.

Following a strong 5th year season with Kansas in 2024-25, where he repeated as Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year and earned third-team All-American recognition from the AP and USBWA, Dickinson transitioned to professional basketball. On June 27, 2025, he signed a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, with an affiliation to the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League, marking the next chapter in his accomplished career.
