JaVale McGee

JaVale McGee has established himself as a distinguished NBA athlete, achieving three championships and an Olympic gold medal, while also extending his professional footprint as a record producer and philanthropist. After being selected 18th overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2008 NBA draft, JaVale McGee signed a two-year, $2.4 million deal, embarking on a distinguished NBA career. During his tenure with the Wizards, he became the first player from the franchise to participate in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2011. McGee further showcased his versatility on March 15, 2011, when he recorded his first career triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 blocks against the Chicago Bulls.

In 2020, he co-produced a track on Justin Bieber’s critically acclaimed album, ‘Changes.’ His athletic prowess extended internationally when he earned an Olympic gold medal with the U.S. Olympic team in 2021, making history alongside his mother, Pamela McGee, as the first mother and son duo to win Olympic gold medals. McGee’s playing career has continued with stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2020–2021), a return to the Denver Nuggets (2021), the Phoenix Suns (2021–2022), and another return to the Dallas Mavericks (2022–2023), before joining the Sacramento Kings (2023–2024). In 2025, he joined the Vaqueros de Bayamón, where he swiftly contributed to their BSN championship victory.

He is currently signed with the Illawarra Hawks for the 2025 season, maintaining his impactful presence in professional basketball.
