Joanna Bacalso is a Canadian actress who has been in a number of films and shows over the span of her career. She is best known for her performance in the comedy film, Snow Dogs, in 2002, and eagle-eyed viewers might recognise her from Dude, Where’s My Car?

Bacalso began her career as a model for Ford Models. She worked with some big brand such as Tommy Hilfiger and Banana Republic, but she soon found that her passions lay elsewhere. She decided to pursue a career in acting instead and began to audition for any opportunities she could.

Bacalso had a relatively slow start to her acting career with many overlooking her talent entirely. Her natural beauty aided her in landing a few roles, but she wanted to look beyond being cast as ‘beautiful young woman,’ ‘stunning woman,’ and ‘woman friend.’ She appeared several times on the Jamie Foxx Show in 1998, but it wasn’t until 2002 that she landed a big role.

Bacalso played the role of Barb in the comedy, Snow Dogs, which followed the story of a dentist who inherits a pack of sledging dogs. The fun, family film was well received, and it gave Bacalso a well deserved space in the spotlight.

Since then, Bacalso has taken on a sporadic set of small roles in TV and film. She also has a popular Instagram account with over three thousand followers.
