Two-wheeled speed demon Jorge Lorenzo is a former professional motorcycle racer. He is a 5x World Champion, with three MotoGP World Championships, and two 250cc World Championships. He was inducted into the MotoGP Hall of Fame in 2022, and despite his retirement from riding, he still remains active in motorsports now sitting behind the wheel of Porsche 911s.
Born and raised in Spain, Lorenzo made his championship debut when he was 15-years-old racing in the 2002 125cc Spanish Grand Prix. Within a few years he was dominating the 250cc World Championships, claiming the title in both 2006 and 2007. In 2008 he moved up to MotoGP level and started racing for the Yamaha team. His first season saw him claim the Rookie of the Year award, and over the next eight seasons with Yamaha he won three championships. He moved to the Ducati factory team for the 2017 season, before changing to Respol Honda in 2019. He finally retired from motorcycle racing at the end of the season. In 2022 he returned to racing, this time on four wheels when he started competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia for Q8 Hi Perform.
