Kitty King

Kitty King (born August 10, 1982) started her equestrian career at an early age, demonstrating talent that led to national representation. Her first call-up to represent Great Britain happened in 1998 for the Pony European Championships, where she secured a team silver medal. This early success was a precursor to her consistent performance throughout her junior and young rider years. Two years later, she participated in the Junior European Championships, earning another team silver medal and placing fourth individually with her horse, Leading Edge. In 2003, she was crowned the U25 British Champion and achieved a team gold medal at the Young Rider Europeans in Poland, further solidifying her status as a developing talent in eventing.

King made her senior international debut in 2005 at the FEI European Championships held at Blenheim Palace. A significant milestone in her career was representing Great Britain at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, riding Ceylor LAN. In 2015, at the Senior European Championships at Blair Castle, she was the highest-placed British competitor, finishing fourth individually and contributing to a team silver medal with Persimmon. Her career highlights include being part of the first all-female eventing team to win gold at the European Championships in Avenches, Switzerland, in 2021, alongside Nicola Wilson, Rosalind Canter, and Piggy March. She repeated this team gold success and secured an individual silver medal at the FEI Eventing European Championship in Haras du Pin, France, two years later with Vendredi Biats.

Kitty King operates Kitty King Eventing from a 100-acre farm in Wiltshire, England. Here, she trains and trades horses for eventing, combining her competitive career with horse development. She holds the distinction of being the first event rider to represent Great Britain at pony, junior, young rider, and senior levels, and the first British event rider to have won medals at all four levels. Her consistent presence at top-level competitions and her dedication to the sport underscore her professional achievements.
