Lasha Bekauri

Lasha Bekauri is a Georgian judoka, widely recognized for his multiple Olympic gold medals and consistent performance in the -90kg weight category. After securing his first major international title at the 2017 World Cadets Championships in Santiago in the -73kg category, Lasha Bekauri went on to achieve significant early success in his judo career. The same year, he earned a gold medal at the European Cadet Championships U18 in Kaunas. He continued to dominate in junior categories, securing dual Junior World Championship titles in the -90kg division.

His dominant form was also evident in his home country, where he claimed back-to-back Grand Slam titles in Tbilisi in both 2023 and early 2024. The pinnacle of Bekauri’s career to date arrived at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he successfully defended his Olympic title, earning his second consecutive gold medal in the men’s -90kg category.
