Li Fabin is a Chinese weightlifter known for his achievements in the 61 kg category. His career has been marked by consistent success, culminating in multiple gold medals at both Olympic and World Championship events. Early in his career, he competed in the 56 kg division before transitioning to the 61 kg class in 2018. His disciplined approach to the sport has resulted in numerous record-setting performances.
Fabin’s dominance became particularly evident at the Olympic Games. He secured his first Olympic gold medal in the men’s 61kg weightlifting competition at the delayed Tokyo Olympics in 2021. He continued this success, defending his title at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he again won gold in the men’s 61kg weightlifting event. During both Olympic victories, he demonstrated exceptional strength and technique, including his distinctive one-leg lift during snatch attempts which contributed to setting new Olympic records.
Throughout his career, Li Fabin has also earned multiple World Champion and Asian Champion titles. His performance at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships saw him set a new World Record with a clean and jerk of 175kg.
