Former professional footballer turned assistant manager Liam Rosenior has had stints with Bristol City, Hull City and Brighton and Hove Albion.
Rosenior’s career started at Bristol City, where he instantly made an impact on the football world by scoring the winning penalty in their 2003 cup game against Queens Park Rangers. He then signed for Fulham and over the next few years became popular with fans thanks in part to his Afro hairstyle which allowed him to make an otherwise impossible goal line clearance in a game against Manchester City. Rosenior then made the move to Reading for three years before joining hull City in 2010, going on to sign for Brighton Hove ad Albion in 2015 before retiring three years later. After retiring from the pitch, this dedicated player remained a key part of the team, being appointed as assistant coach with Brighton and Hove’s Under 23 team and working as a pundit and broadcaster on Sky Sports. The following year he joined Derby County as a specialist first team coach and in 2021 he was promoted to become assistant manager of the club.
As well as a successful club career, Rosenior was also called up to be part of the England Under 21’s squad, playing in the 2007 UEFA European Under 21 Championship. This strategic player turned manager is now an experienced and well respected tactician and continues to be invaluable at Derby County.
