Liko Arreola

Liko Arreola, an American archer, was born and raised in Makawao, Maui, Hawaii. Her introduction to archery occurred at the age of six, guided by her father, Ryan Arreola, a recreational archer. Her interest was further solidified by the 2012 film “Brave.” She participated in her inaugural archery tournament at age seven. Throughout her career, Arreola has become known for breaking multiple national records and achieving significant milestones at a young age.

In 2019, Arreola established new national records at both the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Target Nationals and the National Field Archery Association National Roundup. Her competitive progression saw her debut in the United States Archery Team (USAT) tournament at the SoCal Showdown in Chula Vista, California, in June 2021. Competing in the cadet division, she secured first place in the qualification round and earned a gold medal in the elimination round. In July 2022, Arreola achieved a world record in a national tournament, registering a score of 702 out of 720 in the 50-meter round, surpassing the previous record in her division.

The year 2023 marked a significant period for Arreola, as she represented the United States in several competitions. She won her division at the World Archery Youth Championships U.S. Team Trials and was selected to represent the United States at the world championships in Limerick, Ireland. She also participated in the Arizona Cup, placing 12th, and the World and Pan Am Team Trials, where she finished 9th. Arreola’s World Cup debut occurred on June 17, 2023, at Stage 3 in Colombia. Here, she earned double gold medals, first contributing to the compound women’s team victory against Colombia and then securing the individual gold medal against Sara Lopez. This achievement made her the youngest individual medalist at a World Cup. She subsequently qualified for both the World Archery Championships in Berlin and the World Cup Final in Mexico. Arreola has also competed in events such as the Lancaster Archery Classic in Pennsylvania, the Vegas Shoot in Nevada, and the Easton Scholarship Tour in Utah.
