Mark Richt

Mark Richt is a celebrated former college football coach known for his impactful leadership at both the University of Georgia and the University of Miami, now serving as a television analyst. After playing quarterback for the University of Miami from 1978 to 1982, accumulating nearly 1,500 passing yards, Mark Richt briefly spent time with the Denver Broncos in 1982 before transitioning to coaching in 1985 as a graduate assistant for the Florida State Seminoles under Bobby Bowden. He served as offensive coordinator for East Carolina University in 1989, then returned to Florida State as quarterbacks coach from 1990 to 1993. Promoted to offensive coordinator in 1994, Richt led one of college football’s most potent offenses until 2000, where the team consistently ranked in the nation’s top five scoring offenses for five seasons and top twelve in total and passing offense for five seasons.

In 2023, his significant contributions to the sport were further recognized with his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. Demonstrating a strong commitment to community and athlete welfare, Richt made a personal donation of $1 million towards a new indoor practice facility at the University of Miami in 2016 and developed a network dedicated to supporting former University of Miami football players in their post-playing careers.
