NFL head coach Matthew Patrick LaFleur is the head coach of the National Football League’s Green Bay Packers. He has been the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans, as well as the quarterback coach for the Washington Redskins, Notre Dame, and Atlanta Falcons.
LaFleur, who was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, played wide receiver in 1998 and 1999 as a student at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He played quarterback for the Division II Saginaw Valley State Cardinals from 2000 to 2002, leading them to each season’s D-II playoffs. He was Saginaw Valley State’s all-time leader in throwing yards, completions, and touchdowns when he graduated. On October 1, 2021, LaFleur was honored by being inducted into the SVSU Cardinal Athletic Hall of Fame. LaFleur temporarily served as the Omaha Beef’s backup quarterback in the National Indoor Football League before signing with the Billings Outlaws in Montana the following summer.
On January 8, 2019, LaFleur was appointed the Green Bay Packers’ head coach. Fleur is married to BreAnne Maak, whom he met in college. Luke and Ty are the names of the couple’s two boys. The New York Jets’ offensive coordinator is Mike LaFleur, his younger brother. LaFleur and New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh became friends while serving as graduate assistants at Central Michigan, and Robert Saleh served as the best man at LaFleur’s wedding.
