Mr. Bernz is a foundational member of the hip-hop group ¡MAYDAY!, known for his influential contribution to their sound and his subsequent successful solo career. After co-founding the critically acclaimed hip-hop group ¡MAYDAY! in 2003, Mr.
Bernz quickly established himself as a foundational force, driving the group’s influential sound. Alongside Plex Luthor, he propelled ¡MAYDAY! to early recognition with the Miami-underground hit ‘Quicksand’ and the impactful 2006 music video ‘Groundhog Day,’ featuring Grammy-winning artist Cee-Lo Green. This initial success led to a deal with SouthBeat Records and garnered significant online viewership for their innovative sound.
Bernz played a pivotal role in ¡MAYDAY!’s trajectory, notably contributing to collaborations with Lil Wayne for unofficial videos ‘Da Da Da’ and ‘Get a Life,’ leading to the group’s 2010 mixtape, ‘Lords of the Fly.’ The groups ascent culminated in 2011 with a landmark signing to Tech N9ne’s Strange Music, following their feature on his album ‘Welcome to Strangeland.’ Under Strange Music, Bernz contributed to a prolific output, including the albums ‘Take Me to Your Leader’ (2012), ‘Believers’ (2013), and ‘Future Vintage’ (2015), alongside the ‘Thrift Store Halos’ EP (2012). His artistry also extended to a feature on Tech N9ne’s 2013 single ‘Fragile’ alongside Kendrick Lamar and the collaborative ‘¡MursDay!’ album with Murs in 2014. Further establishing his individual artistic presence, Mr. Bernz released his critically well-received solo debut album, ‘See You On The Other Side,’ in 2016, which resonated with both existing fans and new listeners through tracks like ‘Outta My Brain’ and ‘It Don’t Go.’ While pursuing solo ventures, he remained a core member of ¡MAYDAY!, continuing to contribute to their releases under Strange Music.
Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to their artistic vision, Bernz continues to shape ¡MAYDAY!’s independent output, with their latest album, ‘Justus,’ slated for release in 2025.
