Rapper Mr Bernz first earned notoriety with the legendary US hip hop group ¡MAYDAY! A hugely talented writer, Bernz helped make ¡MAYDAY! layered and diverse and put the soul into their hip hop. In 2016 his debut solo album, See You On The Other Side, saw the rapper’s booming flow took the centre stage, and in July 2021 he dropped highly anticipated long player Yacht Club Vol. 1., a heady blend with a smooth flow of lyrics and yacht rock that truly demonstrated the rapper’s musical genius.
Born Bernardo Garcia, Bernz founded ¡MAYDAY! with guitarist Aaron Eckhart (a.k.a. Plex Luthor) in Miami, Florida in 2003. The band became internationally famous after the runaway success of their Miami-underground smash hit ‘Quicksand’, which resulted in a deal with SouthBeat records. Debut track and music video Groundhog Day – directed by Jokes and featuring vocal powerhouse Cee-Lo Green – racked up more than 2 million views in a day on YouTube in 2006 and the band dropped their first studio album ¡Mayday! in September the same year.
Bernz thrilled his many loyal fans and earned a new army of followers with his first solo offering See You On The Other Side. Whether he’s releasing music as a standalone artist or as an integral component of ¡MAYDAY!, the influential artist remains an ever popular fixture in the hip hop world.
