Petr Mrazek is a professional ice hockey goaltender known for his tenure with multiple National Hockey League teams, including the Detroit Red Wings, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Anaheim Ducks. After being selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the fifth round, 141st overall, of the 2010 NHL Draft, Petr Mrazek quickly established himself as a formidable goaltending talent. He honed his skills in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Ottawa 67’s, accumulating an impressive 62 wins over two seasons. Mrazek’s professional journey advanced significantly upon signing a three-year entry-level contract with the Red Wings on October 19, 2011.
His tenure in Carolina proved highly productive, most notably leading the team to the Eastern Conference Final during the 2018-19 season, achieving 23 wins and a 2.39 GAA. Following this impact, Mrazek signed a two-year contract with the Hurricanes in 2019, cementing his role as a key player. Following two more seasons with the Hurricanes, Mrazek embarked on a new chapter, signing a three-year, $11.4 million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 28, 2021.
