Taja V. Simpson, a Louisiana native of West African and European descent, developed an early interest in acting at the age of seven by reenacting film scenes. Despite her passion, formal acting programs were not available in her hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from McNeese State University. Following her graduation, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she began attending acting workshops. During this period, she received three awards for her performances: Best Actress, Best Overall Performance, and People’s Choice, solidifying her commitment to an acting career. Her early work demonstrated a natural talent for performance.
Simpson’s career gained momentum with a breakout recurring role as Adele in “The Bold & The Beautiful,” where she appeared for over two years from 2012 to 2014.
