Tawin Hanprab

Tawin Hanprab, known as “Tem,” was born on August 1, 1998, in Pathum Thani Province, Thailand. He began his taekwondo career early, participating in the Asian Championships in Jakarta in 2013 in the youth -45kg category and securing a silver medal at the Korea Open in Chuncheon the same year. His early potential was further demonstrated in 2014 when he won gold at the Olympic Games qualification World in Taipei City in the -48kg youth division. Tawin’s progression continued with a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Taipei City in 2015 and a gold at the Indonesia Open in Pakanbaru, also in 2015.

His senior career took off in 2016, marked by a bronze medal at the US Open in Reno and a gold at the Fujairah Open. The pinnacle of his career to date occurred in 2016 at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, where he earned a silver medal in the men’s 58 kg category. Following his Olympic success, Tawin continued to compete at an international level, achieving a silver medal at the 2017 US Open in Las Vegas and a gold at the Dutch Open in Eindhoven in the -58kg senior division. He also secured bronze medals at the 2017 Universiade in Taipei and the 2017 Grand Prix in London. In 2018, he won a bronze medal at the Belgian Open in Lommel and the Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, both in the -58 kg category, along with a gold medal at the El Hassan Open in Amman in the -63 kg category. Tawin Hanprab’s consistent performance across various international competitions underscores his standing as a prominent taekwondo athlete.
