The Marias is a two-piece band made up of Puerto Rican lead singer Maria Zardoya and her musician and partner Josh Conway.
Maria Zardoya was originally a solo act, performing at venues and bars around Los Angeles. It was on the live music circuit that she met Josh Conway, who at the time was working as a sound engineer. They started writing music together, and soon after they also embarked on a romantic relationship. Since the duo started creating music together they have released numerous singles as well as two EPs and a full length studio album. They have become well known for their unique sound which fuses elements of different genres including jazz, pop and indie music. The Marias have also released several tracks in Zardoya’s native language of Spanish including Basta Ya, Carino and Hable Con Ella. The band has toured extensively across the US, Canada, Europe and the UK and now has a growing fanbase of followers around the world who love their original sound and fusion of styles. Their live show includes two additional musicians, Jesse Perlman who plays guitar and Edward James on keyboards.
Most recently, The Marias have enjoyed their first chart topping single with their 2021 release Hush which went in at number one on the Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay chart. Their first full length album was released in the same year and they have plans for more tour dates and upcoming releases in the pipeline.
