Tim Tszyu

Timofei Konstantinovich Tszyu, born on November 2, 1994, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, is a professional boxer who has achieved recognition in the sport. The son of former light-welterweight world champion Kostya Tszyu, he began his journey in sports with gymnastics at age six and later transitioned to soccer. At 15, Tszyu decided to pursue boxing, developing an amateur career with a record of 33 wins and 1 loss before turning professional in 2016. His fighting style and consistent performance have contributed to his ascent in the super welterweight division.

Tszyu made his professional debut in December 2016 at the Sydney Cricket Ground, winning by unanimous decision against Zorran Cassidy. He quickly accumulated regional titles, securing the WBC-ABCO Continental light-middleweight title in his seventh bout in 2017. His career progression includes notable victories, such as defeating former WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn in August 2020 via an eighth-round corner stoppage. Tszyu continued to build his record with wins over Dennis Hogan in March 2021 and Takeshi Inoue in November 2021 by unanimous decision. His professional career is marked by a series of decisive victories that established his presence in the boxing world.

In March 2022, Tszyu made his U.S. debut, securing a unanimous decision win over Terrell Gausha despite an early knockdown. He went on to claim the WBO interim junior middleweight title in March 2023 with a ninth-round technical knockout against Tony Harrison. Following this, he was elevated to full WBO light-middleweight champion in September 2023. His career has also involved challenges, including a split-decision loss to Sebastian Fundora in March 2024 for the vacant WBC light middleweight title and a third-round stoppage loss to Bakhram Murtazaliev in October 2024 for the IBF title.
