Tiq Milan stands at the forefront of American activism, recognized as a distinguished writer, public speaker, and strategic media consultant. Currently serving as a national spokesperson for GLAAD, Tiq brings a wealth of experience, having previously held the role of senior media strategist of national news at GLAAD. His journey of advocacy began as a mentor and teacher at the Hetrick-Martin Institute, a New York City-based LGBTQ youth nonprofit organization.
Tiq’s commitment to LGBTQ activism and journalism has garnered national acclaim, with his efforts being acknowledged by prestigious organizations. As a GLAAD Spirit Day Ambassador, he encourages millions to “go purple” in solidarity with LGBT youth and take a stand against bullying. Notably, Tiq, along with Wade A. Davis and Darnell L. Moore, organized the This Is Luv campaign, aiming to amplify Black LGBTQ Affirming Love and challenge stereotypes about Black communities.
A seasoned advocate, Tiq has conducted advocacy and training sessions on LGBT issues in high schools across New York City. He is also a returning guest lecturer at Lehman College’s MSW program, where he imparts his insights on gender and sexuality to graduating social workers.
