Trayvon Sentell Mullen Jr. was born on September 20, 1997, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attended Coconut Creek High School, where he excelled as a two-way player at wide receiver and cornerback. Mullen received second-team USA Today All-American honors and played in the U.S. Army All-American game. Ranked by ESPN as the second-best cornerback in his class, Mullen received scholarship offers from numerous high-profile college programs including LSU, Florida State, and Alabama. He ultimately committed to Clemson University, where he played college football for the Clemson Tigers (2016–2018).
During his collegiate career at Clemson, Mullen was part of two College Football Playoff National Championship-winning teams in 2016 and 2018. In his junior year, he was named the Defensive MVP of the 2019 CFP National Championship Game after contributing 6 tackles, one interception, one sack, and one forced fumble against the University of Alabama. He also earned Second-team All-ACC honors in 2018. Mullen concluded his college career with 94 tackles, 4 interceptions, 12 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 41 games before declaring for the NFL Draft.
Mullen was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round (40th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut in Week 1 of the 2019 season against the Denver Broncos. During his tenure with the Raiders (2019–2021), he became a starting cornerback and accumulated 50 tackles, 10 passes defensed, and one interception in his rookie season. He continued his career with the Arizona Cardinals (2022), the Dallas Cowboys (2022), and the Baltimore Ravens (2023–2024). His professional career has seen him register 4 interceptions, 29 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble over 46 games played.
